In the aftermath of Saturday’s local government elections in Oyo State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended heartfelt appreciation to the electorate for their remarkable turnout.

The party’s spokesperson, Hon. Micheal Ogunsina, released a statement expressing gratitude for the unwavering support shown by the people of Oyo State towards the party and its candidates.

Ogunsina lauded the state’s residents for their steadfast loyalty to the party, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to the ideals of the PDP and the governance of Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a critical tone, the PDP took a swipe at the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting their consistent setbacks in Oyo State politics. The party reminded the opposition of their previous electoral disappointments and criticized their failure to rectify internal issues, leading to the nomination of unsuitable candidates for the current poll.

Responding to recent remarks from the former governorship candidate of the APC casting doubt on the integrity of the electoral process, the PDP attributed the party’s skepticism to a “losing syndrome” and referenced their previous defeats in gubernatorial and local government elections.

Commending the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission for their commendable conduct throughout the polls, the PDP expressed confidence in the fairness and transparency of the electoral process and remained optimistic about achieving victory.

Assuring the people of Oyo State of the competence and dedication of its candidates, the Oyo State PDP emphasized that all nominees have undergone extensive mentorship under Governor Makinde, promising quality service delivery to the state. The PDP further affirms his belief by remaining optimistic of victory across the 351 wards and 33 LGs of the State.
