Former OYSIEC Chairman Commends Surulere Voters for Increased Participation in Local Elections


In a testament to the evolving democratic culture within Surulere Local Government, Barr Olasunkanmi Olaleye, former OYSIEC chairman and current commissioner for agriculture and rural development, has lauded the heightened participation of voters in the ongoing local government elections.

Recognized as a leading figure in the PDP leadership within Surulere LG, Olaleye praised the electorate’s robust engagement, citing it as a significant departure from past elections.

Speaking from his polling unit at ward 5 of Iressadu, Surulere LG, Olaleye emphasized the importance of citizens’ active involvement in shaping the governance of their communities.

Elections are still on going as at the time of writing this report across various wards in Surulere local government area of Oyo state.

His commendation comes as a testament to the growing commitment to democratic principles and civic responsibility among residents.
