In a comprehensive rebuttal to recent claims made by the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in Oyo State, the People’s Democratic Party has refuted what it deems as baseless accusations, asserting the party’s desperation for political relevance.

In a press statement made available to ROUNDOYO by the acting Publicity Secretary Michael Ogunsina, the PDP said contrary to the speculative narratives put forth by the APC, the Commissioner for Budget and National Planning engaged stakeholders on December 8, 2023, highlighting the Oyo State government’s dedication to transparency in its fiscal planning. The 2024 budget proposal reflects a commitment to fiscal responsibility and sustainable economic growth, with a transparent approach to revenue projections.

The party dismisses allegations of land grabbing and counters the insinuation that its actions are deterring investors, saying Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has consistently demonstrated its commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors, with policies aimed at attracting investments for the state’s development and prosperity.

Amidst the political back-and-forth, the party urges the public to critically evaluate information from various sources and exercise caution when faced with politically-motivated narratives. The administration remains focused on serving the people and fostering an environment conducive to growth and development.
