In a strategic move ahead of the upcoming local government elections in Oyo State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed its comprehensive campaign coordinating team, encompassing individuals from various local government areas. The carefully selected team is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring a successful outcome in the polls scheduled for April across the 33 local government areas in the state.

The State Campaign Coordinating Team, headed by Hon. James Olukunle, includes notable figures such as Hon. Taiwo Alagbe, Hon. Sunday Bankole, and Alhaja Chief Mrs Wulemot Ibitoye, among others. Pastor Biodun Popoola assumes the role of the Secretary, emphasizing the diverse representation of stakeholders from the State Working Committee, Senatorial and local executives, serving council chairmen, and members of the National and State Assembly.

For the Oyo North Campaign Council, Hon. Yusuf Yinusa Adekunle takes charge as the Director-General, supported by Hon. Jimoh Moshood as the Secretary. The council boasts an extensive list of executives and stakeholders from the Oyo North senatorial district, ensuring a robust and inclusive approach.

In Oyo South, Alhaji Kamorudeen Adeyemi leads the Campaign Council as the Director-General, with Pastor Biodun Popoola serving as the Secretary. The council mirrors the comprehensive structure seen in the Oyo North Campaign Council, showcasing a commitment to broad representation and collaboration.

The Oyo Central Campaign Council, spearheaded by Hon. Mufutau Olatunde Ogunremi as the Director-General, brings together leaders like Alhaja Chief Mrs Wulemot Ibitoye and Hon. Oludayo Opatokun. The council encompasses executives from the central senatorial district, local government party chairmen, serving local government chairmen, and various other stakeholders.

However, attention is drawn to key figures from specific local government areas, namely Ogbomoso, Surulere, Ogo Oluwa, and Ibadan, where the PDP has placed a significant emphasis.

In Ogbomoso North, Hon. Sunday Bankole, who is a member of the State Campaign Coordinating Team, also takes on the role of the Ogbomoso North Local Government Campaign DG, while Engr Amusan Damilare leads for Ogbomoso South LG. Hon Bankole’s dual responsibilities highlight the strategic importance of Ogbomoso North in the PDP’s electoral plans.

Surulere, another focal point, sees Mustapha Rasaq Areo leading the Local Government Campaign DG role. This underscores the party’s focus on grassroots mobilization and engagement in Surulere.

Ogo Oluwa’s representation is headed by Honorable Oluwole Ogunleye Olutunji, who serves as the Local Government Campaign DG. His involvement is indicative of the party’s intention to connect with the local community and address their specific needs and concerns.

In Ibadan, Prince Adebowale Falana has been appointed as the Ibadan North Local Government Campaign DG, Hon. Ismail Amole as the Campaign DG for Akinyele, Chief Waheed Adurodekun for Ona Ara, Hon. Jide Adeniran for Lagelu, Alhaji Kareem Rashidi Agba for Oyo East, and Hon. Oyelayo Victor Olabanji for Afijio.
