Akinjide: We’ll Attend Makinde’s Flag-off But Won’t Allow His G-5 Lure PDP Members Into Anti-party Activities
Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, former minister of state for Federal Capital Territory (state), has said she and other leaders of her group in Oyo PDP will be all out to attend Seyi Makinde’s governorship campaign flag-off.
She, however, said she would not be on the seat and watch G-5 governors sell another presidential candidate except Atiku Abubakar.
Makinde is expected to flag off the campaign for his second term bid at Mapo, Ibadan tomorrow Thursday, 5th January 2023.
Expected at the flag-off ceremony are the G-5 governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Samuel Ortom, Benue State, Ifeanyi Uguwuanyi, Enugu, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia states to show solidarity with their counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde.
Jumoke, while addressing party members and supporters during the organized Freedom Walk for Atiku, held in Ibadan on Wednesday said, Oyo PDP will not allow Makinde’s G-5 to lure the party members into anti-party activities.
According to Jumoke, Oyo PDP is one and will work for Atiku, governor Makinde, and other party candidates during the elections. She stated that she, Oyelese, Gbolarumi, and others will be at governor Makinde’s flag-off at Mapo but will not tolerate the members of the G-5 wooing Oyo PDP with another presidential candidate except Atiku Abubakar.
”We will be here tomorrow again to support our governorship candidate, please let us all be here for the flag-off, but we must all reject any attempt to sell any other presidential candidate to us except our party candidate, Atiku”, Oloye Jumoke stated.
She thereafter called on the electorate in the state to vote for all candidates of the PDP stressing that there was no division in the PDP family in Oyo state.
