Gunju Ojo Congratulates Adelabu, Ogunesan Over National Honors

Immediate past speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Joshua Olagunju Ojo has felicitated with the gubernatorial candidate of the Accord party in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, FCA, FCIB and former head of service in Oyo State, Mrs Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan has both bagged national honors today.

The immediate past deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, will be decorated with the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) while Mrs Ogunesan would be decorated with as Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) title by Buhari Muhammadu Buhari, president of Nigeria today.

In a statement made available to ROUNDOYO, the seasoned paliamentarian describe Adebayo Adelabu has a man of honor who merits the national conferment of honor.

The statement reads, “That you are found worthy of being conferred with the Officer of the Federal Republic, was indeed an indication of the acceptance of your selfless service to your people.

“The conferment of the title was really not a surprise tho me to all those who have known your pedigree.  On behalf of members and other leaders of the Accord Political Family I congratulate you and believe this is a strong message on what you will deliver come 2023 when you are elected as the Governor of Oyo State,” Gunju Ojo said.

The 2022 list includes politicians, public officers, security officials, diplomats, academia, businessmen, traditional rulers, religious leaders and legal practitioners among others, have the GCON with five recipients; CFR, 54; CON, 67; OFR, 64; OON, 101; MFR, 75; MON 56; FRM, 8.

Ogunesan, who hails from Ago-Amodu, headquarters of Saki East local government area of Oyo State, was a former head of service in Oyo state.

National Honours are the highest honours or awards that a citizen can receive from his or her country for service to the country.
