TSM Blasts Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, Urges Him to Resign and “Face City Boy Movement Fully”
The Southern Movement (TSM) has launched a fierce criticism of Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, describing his performance at the House of Representatives as disappointing and urging him to resign if he cannot prioritise the mandate given to him by the people of Ogbomoso Federal Constituency.
In a statement issued through its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Rotimi Williams, the group declared that Ogbomoso Federal Constituency “has never had it this bad” in terms of representation at the green chamber.
According to the statement, Hon. Olamijuwon Alao-Akala has failed to live up to expectations and has allegedly shifted his focus away from effective legislative engagement and constituency development.
“It is unacceptable that while the people of Ogbomoso expect strong lobbying, visible projects, and vocal representation at the federal level, their representative appears more preoccupied with the so-called ‘City Boy Movement’ than with his primary constitutional assignment,” the statement read.
TSM described his alleged priorities as misplaced, stating that political alignments and personal movements should never take precedence over the welfare and advancement of constituents.
The group further criticised the lawmaker for reportedly failing to attend the Oyo at 50 Awards, an event held in honour of distinguished personalities from the state, including recognition tied to the legacy of his late father, former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
“It is both shocking and disappointing that he could not honour such a significant occasion connected to the legacy of his late father. Leadership comes with responsibility, dignity, and respect for heritage,” the statement added.
The Southern Movement therefore called on Hon. Alao-Akala to either “rise immediately to the demands of effective representation” or “honourably resign and devote his full attention to political movements that appear to matter more to him.”
The group maintained that Ogbomoso Federal Constituency deserves active, visible, and result-driven representation, stressing that anything short of that is a disservice to the people.
