Oyo PDP Women Meet – Advocate for More Leadership Positions – Reaffirm Loyalty, Commitment to Makinde, PDP

The Oyo State People’s Democratic Party women leader, Hon. (Mrs.) Toyin Olaniran, met with women leaders across the 33 local government areas in the State.

The meeting, chaired by the State Women Leader of the Party, Hon. (Mrs.) Toyin Olaniran, was held at the Molete secretariat of the Party.

The meeting, which was the first of its kind since the new set of State and Local Government Executive Committees emerged, laid a solid foundation for women’s mobilisation and empowerment.

In her address, Mrs Toyin pledged the total loyalty of the women leaders of the Party to the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde has done so well in putting Oyo State on the map of development and emancipation.

She reiterated her commitment to ensuring that Party women are not just tools to be used and discarded but empowered and mobilised for opportunities.

A former Commissioner for Finance and the Chairman of Ibadan Airport Upgrade, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi said women will continue to be relevant in the scheme of things as God has made it so. Women are important weapons of victory and breakthroughs, which is why they can’t be neglected. He called for more leadership spaces for women.

” As stakeholders, it is necessary to demand that their rewards correlate with their efforts. I urge all stakeholders to consider women for major opportunities to showcase their skills, talents and competence, he said. ”

One of the gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, also joined the meeting, where he informed the 33 local government women leaders of his aspiration to succeed Engr Seyi Makinde when his administration comes to an end in 2027. Ajadi said it is important that anyone who will succeed Governor Seyi Makinde in 2027 must be someone who shares in the vision of the Governor.

The State PDP Women Leader, Hon. (Mrs) Toyin Olaniran, reaffirmed Governor Seyi Makinde as the ultimate leader of the Party in Oyo State, and all the women are ready to queue behind anyone the Governor chooses to succeed him.

She urged all the Party members to remain committed to the ideals of Governor Seyi Makinde and the Party.

She appreciated the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo; Commissioner for Commerce and Investment, Hon. Adeniyi Bisi; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Sabo (RAD); Alhaja Fausat Sanni, and others who supported the program.
