Makinde Appoints Olugbon as Permanent Chairman of Surulere Traditional Council

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, as the permanent chairman of the Surulere Local Government Traditional Council.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter addressed to the monarch by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs earlier this month.

According to the letter, the governor’s approval affirms the gazette of the Power of Prescribed Authority and the permanent chairmanship of the council in recognition of Oba Alao’s leadership and distinguished role in Surulere Local Government.

The letter further noted that the Olugbon’s elevation underscores his preeminent status over other minor chieftaincies within his domain. Communities and traditional stools under his prescribed authority include:
