ROCOF Declares Oseni’s 2027 Guber Ambition, Vows to Reclaim Oyo for APC

The Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) held its first state-wide leadership assembly in Ibadan on Saturday, where its founder, Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Oseni, formally declared his ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing coordinators drawn from all 33 local governments and wards, Oseni described ROCOF as “the largest political force in Oyo State today,” stressing that the movement will play a pivotal role in returning the APC to power in 2027.
“This is not just a gathering, it is the start of a movement,” Oseni said. “By 2027, APC must resume governance in Oyo. We can no longer afford to remain in the opposition.”
Oseni also unveiled an eight-point agenda focused on grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment, support for market men and women, and the emergence of new leaders within ROCOF for elective offices. He reaffirmed the group’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and committed ROCOF to delivering Oyo for his re-election.
The event also witnessed the unveiling of ROCOF’s state structure, with the former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde, Barrister Yemi Aderibigbe, announced as the state chairman of the movement. Zonal coordinators were also introduced.
Oseni noted that ROCOF was originally formed in 2018 and has since evolved into a “coalition of grassroots mobilisers, professionals and progressive minds” dedicated to shaping a better future for the state and the country.
He charged the newly inaugurated leaders to take the ROCOF message to every nook and cranny of the state and to begin immediate mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our message must reach every household. ROCOF is not a campaign team; it is a vanguard for transformation,” he said.
He also assured members that programs aimed at supporting traders, artisans, youths and women would be rolled out in the coming months to deepen grassroots impact.
