The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disclaimed any involvement in the reported coalition of political actors operating under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that the party remains intact and resolutely loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a press statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday and signed by the State Secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the party made it clear that it is neither in alliance with any coalition nor shares in the objectives of the newly formed political front.

“The PDP in Oyo State remains a united, focused, and formidable party, fully committed to the leadership and vision of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. Our structures are intact, our direction is clear, and our loyalty is unwavering,” the statement read in part.

The party’s leadership warned against confusion or distractions resulting from the activities of those parading themselves under alternative political platforms, stressing that the PDP’s strength lies in its internal unity and established grassroots support.

While calling on all party Chairmen, elected officials, leaders, elders, and stakeholders across the state to remain proactive and steadfast, Adeleke urged them to pay closer attention to the concerns of members within their jurisdictions and to guard against any form of internal disaffection.

“Kindly attend to the concerns of party members under your jurisdiction, manage any internal issues diligently, and work tirelessly to close any ranks that appear open. Now more than ever, we must ensure that no member is pushed away by our actions or inactions,” the statement added.

Describing the period as a crucial time for the PDP family nationally, the party called on its members and supporters to remain committed to the progress of the party ahead of future political contests.

The clarification comes amidst ongoing political realignments in the state, particularly as some former political office holders and aspirants are believed to be regrouping under the ADC platform in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
