Ogbomoso South Chairman Fulfills Promise, Donates 40 Mattresses to Correctional Facility
In a move that underscores his commitment to social welfare and leadership with a human face, the Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government, Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy (OOT), has donated 40 mattresses to inmates at the Ogbomoso South Correctional Facility.
The gesture, which aligns with his administration’s people-centered governance, follows a promise made during his visit to the facility on January 29. The chairman had assessed the working and living conditions of the staffs and inmates and pledged to support them with essential items.
Speaking at the donation event, Oyedokun reiterated his belief in governance that prioritizes not just infrastructure but also human capital development and social interventions. He stated that leadership must extend compassion to all segments of society, including those in correctional facilities.
“This is not about politics but about humanity. Governance should not be about winners and losers; it should be about making an impact where it truly matters,” he said.
He further assured that his government would continue to assist the correctional facility and other public institutions in ways that would improve their standards.
Officials at the correctional facility expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention that would improve the comfort of inmates.
