Oyo State has been thrown into mourning as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Barr. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, has been reported dead.
The seasoned politician, who hailed from Otu, Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oke-Ogun, passed away in the United States earlier today.
Barr. Omodewu’s death marks the loss of a significant figure in Oyo State politics. He was a prominent leader, known for his dedication to the APC and his role in the development of Oke-Ogun.
His political journey was marked by his election as the Oyo APC Chairman in October 2021, where he succeeded Chief Akin Oke. Before his chairmanship, Omodewu had a distinguished career as a Commissioner under the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, serving in key ministries such as Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Physical Planning and Urban Development, and Lands, Housing, and Survey.
