Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan, a cardiovascular surgeon and former Commissioner for Health, has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. He was welcomed back to the party on Wednesday at the APC secretariat in Ibadan by the state executive members.

Adeduntan had left the APC just weeks before the 2023 governorship election, citing fraudulent primaries. He now reports that these issues have been resolved to prevent future occurrences.

Explaining his departure from the PDP-led government, Adeduntan accused Governor Seyi Makinde of divisive leadership and attempting to implement a failed WIKE/FUBARA strategy in Oyo State. He claimed that Makinde favors servile and obedient individuals over those with superior intellect.

Adeduntan also expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of benefits for him and his supporters from the administration they helped bring to power and accused Governor Makinde of ignoring his phone calls.
