Oyo Assembly Confirms Suspension Of Kajola Council Chairman Over Misappropriation…

Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly have confirmed the suspension of the Chairman of Kajola Local government, Hon. Alh salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon.

The lawmakers made the decision during the plenary presided over by the deputy speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi on Thursday.

Borikansunwon has earlier been suspended by the council councilors for misappropriation of funds and requested the state house of assembly for ratification.

After the confirmation of the suspension of the chairman, the lawmakers mandated the Vice chairman of the council to take over the council administration activities. The lawmakers also instructed the council secretary to resume activities as head of the LCDA.

Alh salimonu Afolabi borikansunwon is now the third local government chairman suspended since the conclusion of the 2023 state governorship election. It will be recalled that Irepo and Iseyin local government chairmen has earlier been suspended indefinitely by the lawmakers.
