Makinde approve furniture allowance for LG Chair, Councilors, Super others

With less than four months to the gubernatorial elections, Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has revealed his intentions to append his signature to the release of furniture allowance for local government political office holders.

He made this known on Wednesday in Ogbomoso during the stakeholders and consultative meeting, disclosing that” the Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy matters has brought the file for Furniture Allowance for Chairmen, Councilors, Supervisors and other political appointees at the local government level which amounted to N2.3Billion.

Governor Makinde then announced approval of 50% of that allowance to be paid within two weeks and the balance to be paid in January”.

This is coming after months the Governor has turned deaf hears to pleas of those at the local government over paucity of funds and allowances.
