Former Oyo Chief of Staff, Chief Lugman Oyebisi Ilaka, Resigns from PDP

Former Chief of Staff in Oyo State, Chief Lugman Oyebisi Ilaka, has formally resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter dated 10th February 2026 and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Ward 5, Oyo East Local Government Area of Oyo State, Chief Ilaka announced his decision to leave the party.

In the letter titled “Resignation of Party Membership,” the former Chief of Staff stated that he tendered his resignation with “utmost humility,” bringing his membership of the PDP to an end.

He expressed deep appreciation to the party for the opportunities granted to him and for the support he enjoyed over the years. “I am eternally grateful for the opportunities afforded to me by the party and the unalloyed support given to me over the years. Till we meet again,” the letter read.

Chief Ilaka, a prominent political figure in Oyo State, has played significant roles in the state’s political landscape, including serving as Chief of Staff. His resignation is expected to stir reactions within political circles, as observers await his next political step.
