AJADI OGUNTOYINBO DECLARES GOVERNORSHIP AMBITION, MEETS OYO PDP EXECUTIVES
Governorship hopeful, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 Oyo State governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), drawing a massive crowd of party leaders, youth groups and supporters from across the state.
The declaration, in a statement was signed by Ogunsina Michael, Publicity Secretary, Oyo State PDP, was energetic and in a colorful atmosphere, with the presence of all thirty-nine (39) state executive members of the party as well as the thirty-three (33) local government PDP chairmen, signalling what party insiders described as an uncommon show of solidarity.
Ajadi reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde, stressing that his ambition is built on good governance, inclusive development and sustainable economic growth.
“My mission is simple: to ensure the people of Oyo State remain happy, empowered and prosperous. We will consolidate on the progress achieved and take our state to new heights,” he stated.
PDP State Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, praised Ajadi for his bold step, describing his declaration as a demonstration of leadership and readiness to serve. Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, also encouraged more aspirants to express interest, noting that healthy competition strengthens the party’s internal democracy.
The state executives assured of a transparent, fair and inclusive process ahead of the 2027 elections, emphasising that unity remains the party’s greatest strength.
The event ended with music, prayers and excitement, as supporters hailed the development as the beginning of a new phase for Ajadi Oguntoyinbo within the Oyo PDP.
