Over-speeding Bread Van Kills Two Women Along Alao-Akala Way, Ogbomoso

Tragedy struck early Monday along Alao-Akala Memorial Highway, Randa area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, as two middle-aged women were crushed to death by a speeding bread distribution van.

Eyewitnesses said the van, belonging to the producers of Oluwabori Bread with registration number Oyo AME 92 XB, was driving at high speed when it knocked down the two women as they attempted to cross the road.

“The two of them died instantly,” an eyewitness recounted. “The van was moving too fast; they didn’t stand a chance.”

One of the victims was identified as a bean meal (Ekuru) seller from the Osupa area of Ogbomoso.

Reports say the driver of the van initially fled the scene after the incident, but was later apprehended by motorcycle riders (Okada operators) who chased him down.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have since evacuated the remains of the deceased women.
