A grassroots politician and youth mobilizer, Babarinde Seun, fondly called Asiwaju Odo, and a 2023 Oyo State House of Assembly aspirant, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso North Local Government and officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his resignation letter dated 12th September 2025 and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Osupa Ward, Ogbomoso North, Asiwaju Odo said his decision followed sober reflection and consultations with family, political associates, and stakeholders.

He lamented what he described as the erosion of the party’s founding ideals of fairness, justice, inclusiveness, and internal democracy, noting that the PDP has become dominated by personal ambitions and one-sided leadership.

“Unfortunately, it has become evident that those ideals are no longer the driving force of the party. What we see today is an environment dominated by personal ambitions and one-sided leadership, leaving little room for genuine participation or recognition of loyal members,” he stated.

Despite his exit, he emphasized that his political journey continues as he realigns with forward-looking Nigerians committed to transparent leadership, people-focused governance, and national development.

This development comes just days after another 2023 House of Assembly aspirant, Damilare Sunday Olusanjo Bsquare, tendered his resignation from the PDP but was later persuaded by party chieftains to rescind his decision and remain within the fold.
