I Will Be Next Oyo Governor as Ibadan, Oke-Ogun Agree on MOU – Oseni

House of Representatives member, Dr. Aderemi Oseni, has declared that the understanding between Ibadan and Oke-Ogun on power rotation places him in pole position to emerge as the next governor of Oyo State.
Oseni, who represents Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on FERMA, said leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state have resolved to rebuild the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
He admitted that mistakes of the past, which contributed to APC’s defeat in the recent House of Representatives by-election, must not be repeated, stressing that the party is now more united and determined.
The lawmaker added that the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends, a base of over 200,000 members, is actively mobilising residents for continuous voter registration to ensure wider participation in future polls.
“Unlike 2023 when only 26 per cent of registered voters turned out for the election, we are mobilising the people of Oyo for voter registration,” he said.
On the zoning debate, Oseni stated that grace cannot be fought, adding that Ibadan and Oke-Ogun have now reached an understanding on power rotation.
According to him, the arrangement strengthens his political positioning for the governorship seat in 2027.
