PDP Tightens Grip on Ogbomoso North as Factions Collapse, Stakeholders Declare Loyalty

In a major boost to its internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has tightened its grip on Ogbomoso North as leaders and stakeholders unanimously agreed to end factionalism and declared total loyalty to the party.

The resolution followed a strategic engagement meeting held at the PDP state secretariat in Molete, Ibadan, chaired by the State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke. The meeting provided a platform for open dialogue, where grievances were tabled and long-standing disagreements addressed.

The party leadership ordered an immediate dissolution of all factional camps within the local structure and mandated unity going forward. Local government party chairman, Alhaji Hamzat, and council chairman, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, were directed to work closely together in the best interest of the party.

Stakeholders at the meeting pledged their commitment to the PDP and reaffirmed support for its leadership in the state.

In attendance were prominent figures including Hon. George Ogunlade, Hon. Bisi Oluranti, Engr Muftau Open Salau, Hon. Lanre Ladeji, Hon Akinwale Wolekanle, Alhaji Kabir Ayoade, Hon. Jide Oketumbi, Prof. Raphael Afonja, and Mrs Bolanle.

Also present from the state executive were Hon. Sunday Bankole, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, Hon. Waheed Gbadegesin, Hon. Kunmi Adesina, Pastor Biodun Popoola, and Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.

Notable leaders who were absent but sent apologies include Alhaji Rasak Kareem Gbadegesin and Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
