Oyo PDP Resolves Ogo-Oluwa Crisis, Reinforces Party Supremacy

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has stepped in to resolve lingering internal rifts among its leaders and stakeholders in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, issuing a firm directive on the need for unity, discipline, and adherence to party supremacy.

At a high-level stakeholders meeting chaired by the State Secretary of the Party, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the PDP leadership ordered the immediate resumption of ward and local government meetings, stressing that non-compliance would attract disciplinary measures.

The party emphasized that all structures and elected officials within Ogo-Oluwa must set aside divisive tendencies and rally behind the collective interest of the PDP. According to resolutions reached, the supremacy of the party remains sacrosanct, and must be respected by all stakeholders.

In a direct appeal to the key political actors, the party urged Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Chairman, Hon. Seun Ojo; the Vice Chairman; and Oyo State House of Assembly member representing the area, Hon. Ogundare Abideen Adeoye, to embrace peace and put the party’s interest above personal differences.

To ensure full compliance with its resolutions, the state leadership constituted a seven-member ad hoc committee headed by Hon. Simeon Oyeleke, Special Adviser to the Governor. Other members include Hon. Adekunle Onile, Hon. Solomon Ajadi, Hon. Sanjo Akintola, Hon. Akinboro Akinsola (State Exco), Hon. Gideon Oyeleye (Ogooluwa Party Chairman), and Hon. Bamidele Adewuyi (Energy), who will serve as Secretary of the committee.

The meeting witnessed the presence of prominent party stakeholders including Hon. Mufu Ogunremi, Acting Publicity Secretary Micheal Ogunsina, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, Hon. Waheed Gbadegesin, Alhaja Wulemot Ibitoye, Hon. Adelabu Aderemi Alaba, Pastor Biodun Popoola, and Hon. Kunmi Adesina.

Stakeholders from Ogo-Oluwa in attendance included Hon. Seun Ojo, Hon. Ajala Onaolapo, Hon. Abideen Adeoye, Hon. Gideon Oyeleye, Hon. Simeon Oyeleke, Dr. Adekunle Onile, Hon. Sanjo Akintola, Prince Ade Master, Hon. Akinsola Akinboro, Pa. John Famakin, Olugbade Adediran, Pa. Mogaji Adeyemo, and others.

The intervention marks a renewed commitment by the PDP to foster peace and cohesion within its ranks across local government areas in Oyo State.
