Oyo 2027: Adoption of rotational policy will serve interest of larger populace — APC Guber Aspirant

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and gubernatorial hopeful, Col (Dr) Gbenga Adegbola has insisted that the clamour for the zoning of governorship seats to Oke-Ogun zone would not affect the existing bond of oneness among the various communities vis-a-vis political groups in the state.
Adegbola made this known in a sideline interview after he visited some security agencies and political leaders in Ibadan on Wednesday.
He argued that while other zones had occupied the political seat of leadership in the state, Oke-Ogun is yet to have a taste despite its support to other zones.
Adegbola who just retired from the Nigerian Army as Colonel submitted that he had all that it takes to lead the state in 2027.
“I have made my intention known during my visit to the National Secretariat of our party in Abuja. I will bring my wealth of experience as an administrator and security strategist to bear in piloting the affairs of the state.
I want to commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his approach to the security situation in the state.
There is a low rate of crimes and criminal activities across the 33 local government areas of the state.
However, there is still a lot to be done to ensure zero tolerance for crimes and criminals.
If given the opportunity to serve as the next governor of the state, I will bring my wealth of experience to bear as a retired military officer.
Also, if there is provision of adequate security, local and foreign investors will be encouraged to invest in the system.
Adegbola added that his visit to the security agencies was borne out of interest in the security apparatus of the state.
In his remark, Oyo NSCDC Commandant, Augustine Padonu said the corp is ready to discharge its duty by protecting critical national assets at the federal, state, and private individuals.
Meanwhile, another APC chieftain, Lowo Obisesan said Adegbola has what it take to become the governor of the state going by his pedigree and antecedent.
