Ogbomoso Stands Still for PDP as Party Stalwarts Storm Arowomole for Oyo North Senatorial Meeting — Strategize Ahead of 2027

The ancient city of Ogbomoso was thrown into a gyrating mood as Party leaders, stakeholder and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) across the thirteen local government councils of Oyo North Senatorial district converged at Olagbami Osekun Civic Center in Ogbomoso South Local Government where important and salient issues affecting the Party in each of the local government councils were discussed and ironed out.

While addressing party members, the Deputy Governor applauded the large turnout of PDP members and promised to relay all reports to Governor Makinde regarding developments in the Oyo North Senatorial district.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to reconciliation and unity, while also issuing a note of caution to members against divisive statements.

Barr. Lawal emphasized that Governor Makinde will continue to ensure that everyone benefits from the party, commending Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Iseyin local governments for their unity and support. He urged other party members to follow suit and refrain from division.

He pledged to continue supporting the party with financial contributions, including N500,000 for every federal constituency meeting and N1 million for senatorial meetings, whilst advising that the senatorial meetings should be held every two months.

The Deputy Governor, who equally commended the current administration for surpassing the record of employment from 1999 to date, however noted that the Governor deserves commendation for his efforts.

He called on the local government to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt by the people and to escalate projects to the Oyo State government when necessary.

In his goodwill message, the former deputy governor, Engr. Hamid Gbadamosi expressed confidence in the Party’s growth, vowed that the PDP would take over most states and the central government in 2027.

He thanked Governor Makinde for nominating him to the Board of Trustees, as well as the Deputy Governor for his support, pledging not to betray the trust reposed in him.

While speaking, the Chairman of Elders Council to Governor Seyi Makinde, Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun appreciated Governor Makinde for supporting him to reach the seat of his forebears. He also commended the Governor’s sterling performance and appealed for fair distribution of appointments by party leaders.

The leadership of the Party in Oyo North Senatorial District while speaking through its Chairman, Hon. Yusuf gave a report on the new senatorial office the Party has just secured in Iseyin and how the local government chairmen played a formidable impact.

Hon. Yusuf also informed the meeting of the efforts he and others have undertaken to reconcile any aggrieved party member in the zone. He also commended the Governor for procuring vehicles to all the members of the State Executive Committee.

the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, representing Ogbomoso South Constituency, who spoke on behalf of other members of the Oyo State House of Assembly reiterated the House’s support for Governor Makinde’s developmental agenda, encouraging members to remain optimistic about future opportunities.

The Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, while giving his vote of thanks commended the massive turn out of Party members from across the 13 local government who came to ogbomoso for the meeting. He also assured the Party members of Governor Seyi Makinde’s continued commitment to the welfare of the party members across the state.

The event also witnessed generous donations from notable party leaders and members, including Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, further demonstrating their commitment to the party’s growth and unity.

The Party in Oyo North Senatorial District unanimously declared their absolute loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and pledged to stay committed to achieving 100% success for PDP in 2027.

The meeting which was well attended by prominent stakeholders of the Party included the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, H.E Abdul-Rahman Adebayo Lawal, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, former deputy governor of Oyo State, Engr. Hamid Gbadamosi, Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, Chief Jacob Adetoro, Chief Isaac Koleosho, Chief Bayo Bankole, Hon. Ezekiel Oyedepo, Alhaji Rasak Kareem Gbadegesin, Hon. Shina Peller and other prominent stakeholders.

Also present are the members of the Oyo state House of assembly led by the majority leader Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, Hon. Anthony Ogunsola, Hon. Saminu Gbadamosi, Hon. Dele Adeola, Hon. Ogundele Johnson Akintola, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Oyewo-Micheal; Special Advisers to the Governor, chairmen and members of boards, chairmen and menbers of agencies, commissioners and others.
