PDP Resolves Crisis in Orire LG as Stakeholders Unite, Reaffirm Support for Makinde

The lingering internal crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Orire Local Government has been laid to rest, following a successful reconciliation meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Molete, Ibadan.
The peace meeting, which lasted for over three hours, was part of a statewide effort by the PDP leadership in Oyo State to foster unity, inclusivity, and ensure a better reward system across all local chapters. The reconciliation process, ongoing across all 33 local government areas, aims to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the next general elections.
During the Orire LG session, party stakeholders including elders, political office holders, and various political blocs within the PDP—openly expressed their grievances and concerns. In response, the state leadership urged the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Alabi Olateju Michael, to deepen his engagement with party leaders and members while also showing greater capacity in leadership.
The leadership further mandated that party meetings be held regularly at all levels within the local government to ensure proper communication and inclusion.
At the end of the meeting, all stakeholders resolved to set aside their differences and work in unity for the progress of the party in Orire. They also pledged their full loyalty and support to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The meeting was chaired by the State Party Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, and had in attendance key members of the State Executive Committee, including Barr. Waheed Gbadegesin, Hon. Kunmi Adesina, Pastor Biodun Popoola, and Ogunsina Oluwaseun Michael.
Prominent party figures from Orire LG present at the meeting included former Commissioner for Finance, Chief Bayo Bankole; Hon. Ezekiel Oyedepo, Alhaji Owonikoko, Hon. Ogundele Johnson Akintola, Hon. Monilola Bankole, and the LG Chairman, Hon. Alabi Olateju Michael, among others.
