Defend Ogbomoso Now! Report Lagelu FM to NBC
Dear sons, daughters and friends of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land, I have come with the second stage of getting the NBC to sanction Lagelu FM for allowing disrespect, disrepute and attack on our esteemed royal stool of Sọ̀ún of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land.
For now, what we need to do is to officially write the National Broadcasting Commission of Nigeria to investigate and sanction the radio station.
People won’t say they will disrespect us but we are the ones who will create that boundary to ensure they don’t.
While we keep growing our petition, we should also do this on the side. I only need 50 Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ sons, daughters and friends to copy this message below and email the NBC at this email address: info@nbc.gov.ng.
Once you have successfully emailed the NBC, send a screenshot under this comment section. You can also blindcopy me via ogbomosoajilete@gmail.com. The video is hereby included here for emphasis as we will need to attach it to our mails to the NBC.
You can also sign up for this position via this link belowhttps://www.change.org/p/demand-the-nbc-to-hold-lagelu-fm-accountable-for-desecrating-royal-stool?recruiter=888157244&recruited_by_id=fc1abcb0-822d-11e8-a3dd-b9616b77f763&utm_source=share-personal&utm_campaign=starter_onboarding_share_flow&utm_medium=whatsapp
Thank you.
Dear Sir,
Attack on Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ Royal Stool and Attack on Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land on Lagelu FM, Ibadan, Oyo State
Issues:
On Saturday 25th January, 2025, Lagelu FM on Saturday 25th/January/2025, on a programme named Bosenlo, hosted by Temitayo Oyeladun between 8:00am to 10:00am, one Doyin Odebowale, a guest on the programme, made repeated comments that were a slur on the ancient royal throne of the Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ people, the Sọ̀ún of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land. Despite the glaring evidence that these comments were to not only insult but to also damage the reputation of not only the prestigious status of the Sọ̀ún throne but also to historically malign the entire Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ people, the host, who professionally should caution his guest and made him retract his incendiary comments, was giving leading comments, an opportunity to which the guest seized to fire more salvo to incense Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ people.
This is a clear violation of not just the cultural respect of the Ogbomoso throne and the people of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land but also the Section 3.1.2 of NBC Codes 2020 by both the host and the radio station; and as one of the proud indigenes of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land, which I take as an attack on my person, origin, place, ancestry and dignity. The misrepresentation of facts is also a desecration of our highly revered throne and title of the Sọ̀ún of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land.
Call To Action:
We hereby call on the National Broadcasting Commission, being the regulatory body of radio, television and other on-radio communication bodies in Nigeria; and one with a clear mandate to ensure high-quality broadcasting standards, to promptly cause an investigation into this violation of ethical standards and make appropriate sanctions, redress and enforce your codes and regulations so as to only address the issue butalso to strengthen the cultural unity of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The entire Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́ sons and daughters would be grateful to see the outcome the matter.
Attached is the video of the said programme.
Best regards.
