Produce buyer murdered in Ogbomoso, suspected mastermind, a relative on the run

A produce buyer, identified as Wasiu Adigun, has been found murdered in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. His body was discovered early Wednesday at his warehouse, located between Kinnira and Ikose along Ikoyi Road.

Sources revealed that the deceased, who previously served as the chairman of produce buyers in the Ogbomoso zone, was reported missing on Tuesday. Following a report lodged at the Owode Police Station, investigations were launched. “It was this morning that the body was found,” a source confirmed.

Suspicion has fallen on a relative of the deceased, who had once worked as his subordinate in the produce business. The relative, whose name remains unconfirmed, is believed to be the mastermind behind the killing. According to a family member, Wasiu had brought the suspect from the northern part of the country to assist him in his business. However, after the relative strayed from the right path, Wasiu reportedly asked him to leave.

Further findings indicate that Wasiu’s vehicle was tracked to a location in Ilorin, Kwara State, though the suspects have yet to be apprehended.

A source at the Owode Police Station confirmed the ongoing investigation into the suspected murder.
