The Oyo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Barrister Ajiboye Isaac Omodewu, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. The news of Omodewu’s passing, which occurred in the United States, was announced earlier today.

In an official statement signed by the PDP’s Chairman, Secretary, and Acting Public Relations Officer, the party described Omodewu’s death as a “colossal loss” to the people of Oyo State.

The statement highlighted Omodewu’s notable contributions as a community leader, political figure, and former commissioner who served in various ministries, including Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Physical Planning and Urban Development, and Lands, Housing, and Survey.

The PDP emphasized that Oyo State will deeply feel the impact of Omodewu’s departure. The party has directed its members to mourn the loss and to pray for the repose of his soul. Additionally, the PDP extended its heartfelt condolences to the APC, as well as to Omodewu’s family and friends during this difficult time.

“The loss of a loved one is always deeply saddening, especially when that person is a community leader, a father, and a political figure on whom many depend,” the statement read. “The death of Barrister Omodewu is indeed a sad one for us. It marks the end of a political camaraderie, brotherhood, and friendship. However, we take solace in the fact that he lived a life of fulfillment and service to God and humanity.”

The PDP statement also acknowledged the connection between the late APC Chairman and the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, noting that both hailed from the same town, Otu, in Itesiwaju Local Government of Oke Ogun.

Barrister Isaac Omodewu, who became the APC Chairman in October 2021, passed away at the age of 61.
