Oyo PDP Applauds Agboworin’s Loyalty, Immense Support To Party

………Says His Actions Are Impressive

The PDP Acting Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Mr Michael Ogunsina, has commended the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin).

Ogunsina stated that the lawmaker has, ab initio, demonstrated unalloyed loyalty, unprecedented commitment, and contributed meaningfully to the progress of the party, saying his actions are impressive and worthy of emulation.

A statement signed by Agboworin’s Head of Media Unit, Mayowa Okekale, indicated that Ogunsina made the submission, on Saturday, during a Media Parley with select Independent Online Media Publishers based in the state and members of the PDP Media Team.

The meeting, which held at the Party’s Secretariat, Molete, bordered on discussion on strategic plans aimed at moving the Media arm of the party forward.

He said: “For everything he does, he carries the Secretariat of the party along. And when it comes to the aspect of support, He is also doing well in that regard.

“There has never been a time he would want to organise any programme that he would not call the Secreariat of the party and carry us along to do it together.

“He would be holding another programme soon and he already informed us some weeks ago. He has sent the letter. So, his actions are worthy of emulation.

“When the Governor attended the Empowerment programme Agboworin organised two months ago, what he said there was what I also repeated recently in a press statement.”

In the same vein, he commended the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde, for being a worthy ambassador of the party upon which other political office holders draw their inspiration and motivation from.

Speaking further, he appreciated the effort of other Federal lawmakers and government functionaries in the state, who donated towards the programme including Hon. Adedeji Olajide Stanley, member representing Ibadan South West/Ibadan North West Federal Constituency; Hon. Oyesina Oyedeji, member representing Iseyin/Kajola/Iwajowa/Itesiwaju Federal Constituency; Hon. Sunday Ojo Makanjuola, member representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency; Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Hon. Seun Ashamu; Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on local government and chieftaincy matters and Hon. Olusina Ogunsola.

Ogunsina assured them of the Party’s continued support and patronage at all times. 

Similarly, Ogunsina commended the new media journalists and members of the PDP Media Team for their support and commitment to the party so far while also promising that the party will do its best to protect their interests, going forward.

While addressing the members of the Fourth Estate of the realm, Ogunsina stressed the need for journalists to maintain accuracy and balanced as much as possible in their reports in order not to run foul of the law.

He implored them to always reach out to both sides in order to have an accurate and balanced stories.

Also speaking at the parley, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr Daramola Fisayo, called for synergy between the PDP media team and the government, imploring the journalists to shun any libelous story that could put them into trouble. 

He noted that the government of the day wouldn’t continue to be lenient and not stifle any media organization because it has not nothing to hide from the people of the State.

Despite that, he said, the government would not, at the same time, sit back and watch anyone deliberately misinform the general public about government actions.
