Accord Party Ogbomoso Zone Denies Alliance With Other Parties Ahead of Guber Polls
The Accord Party across the five local government areas of Oyo State has denied any form of alliance with the any political party ahead of the March 18 governorship election.
In a statement jointly signed by the leader of the party in the zone, Rt Hon Gunju Ojo and Barrister Dapo Atada the party urged the public to dismiss the rumours, insisting that its fielded candidates for the March 11th 2023 elections for the House of Assembly seats and Chief Adebayo Adelabu as its gubernatorial flag bearer did not form alliance to step down for any political party.
The statement in full below:
After X-raying the 3 leading contenders, all of them found themselves holding public offices, and after reviewing their antecedents and pedigree, the duo of Chief Adebayo Adelabu “Penkelemesi” and Professor Abiodun Ayanfemi Ayandele stands tall and are the most qualified for the executive position of Governor and deputy-Governor of Oyo State respectively.
That we the representatives of the Accord party in the five local government of Ogbomoso, under the authority of our respected leader, Rt Hon Gunju Ojo, met today 13th day of March 2023, and after robust deliberations on the Ogbomoso agenda resolves as follows;
That the entire members of the Accord party affirms that the candidate of our great party is Chief Adebayo Adelabu aka Penkelemesi running as the Governor of Oyo State and Professor Abiodun Ayanfemi Ayandele as the Deputy Governor of Accord party in Oyo State.
That the entire members of the Accord party will vote solely for the Accord party candidates in the election coming up on the 18th March 2023.
That Accord is not conceding any of its position to any other party or parties and that Accord is ready and willing to work with any other party or parties willing and ready to support it’s Gubernatorial candidate and Deputy.
We want to emphatically say that Accord is the party to beat in this election and it is the Ogbomoso agenda that is very crucial in the March 18th, 2023 election, because our daughter is involved.
These our resolutions that all eligible voters in the five local governments in Ogbomoso be part of this history, by voting en masse for Chief Adebayo Adelabu as the incoming Governor of Oyo State and our own daughter, Professor Abiodun Ayanfemi Ayandele as incoming Deputy Governor.
