Ogbomoso South takes 2yrs old baby dumped at Water Works into custody

2 years old abandoned baby on Wednesday was rescued at Water Works dam, in Ogbomoso South Local Government area of Oyo State.

Confirming the incident, the Council Chairman of Ogbomoso South, Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy said
concerned persons alerted the security agencies who came to her rescue and reportedly took the child to the hospital before returning her to the custody of the local government.

Oyedokun said it was true the baby was found abandoned at the stated location but was rescued by the Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun after being alerted by passerbys.

He said, “there is no reason why a mother should abandon her baby, if not for God the little girl would have drown in the dam, passerbys alerted the Amotekun who alongside the Police rescued her and alerted the local government of the development.

“The local government has taken her into custody, and she is undergoing treatment at a private medical facility, and we thank God she’s in good condition,” he added.
