A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state, Hon Olawale Ajibola , on Sunday said the outcome of the national convention has proved that the party is ready to rescue Nigeria from prevailing challenges.
Ajibola, an house of assembly hopeful, made this known in his congratulatory message to the new National chairman of the party, Sen Ayorcia Ayu and the Deputy National chairman [south], Amb Taoofeek Arapaja and the other 19 members of the national working committee.He said that PDP consensus arrangement for most of the positions has showed that the party has learn from past mistakes, declaring that he believes the current crop of party officials would strengthen unity and democracy in the party.
The Ogbomoso south politician lauded the efforts made by the leadership of the party ” What our leaders has done is commendable. From the Chairman of the convention committee, HE Ahmadu Fintiri and the Secretary of the Committe, who is equally the leader of our party in Oyo state and the entire Southwest; Engr Seyi Makinde, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, delegates and other members of various committee, we say thank you for your selfless effort.
“On the emergence of Amb Arapaja, its a round peg in a round hole, looking at his antecedents as a former council chairman, House of Representatives member, Deputy governor and Ambassador of the federal republic of Nigeria, its a blessing to the entire Oyo PDP,” he added.
He however urged the mew executives to uphold transparency, objectivity and fairness in the handling of their responsibilities, saying that the assignment is “Rescue Nigeria”.
