As the country celebrates 61 years of its independence, Executive Chairman, Ogbomoso South Local Government Area; Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy has assured that the country would overcome its current challenges, saying there is hope for the country.
He stated this in his goodwill message issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Femi Ajiboye in Ogbomoso.
He urged Nigerians not to give up on the country “because they are at the point of spotting light at the end of a dark tunnel”.
The statement reads in part, “Our nation, Nigeria has been in captivity of insecurity occasioned by the menace of unending terrorism, banditry, herdsmen, kidnapping, religious persecution, nepotism, economic predicament and its attendant consequences, graduate unemployment, food scarcity, Naira devaluations and a host of others.
“Nigerians are groaning and it is as if God has forsaken us, but I believe God is stepping into the situation and we will soon rejoice and celebrate.
“Lets come together and put and end to all these menace through our concentrated efforts, in other to have a Nigeria we have been dreaming of.
“I use this great opportunity to congratulate Nigeria and Nigerians for yet another independence anniversary marking 61st years of freedom from the grip of our colonial rulers. God bless Ogbomoso South, God bless Oyo state, God bless the federal republic of Nigeria.”
