……..declares senatorial ambition for 2023
Immediate past chief of staff to Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, Chief Bisi Ilaka has revelealed that. House of Representatives memembers; Hon Dokun Odebunmi Bunvic and Hon Akin Alabi were the one who ensured he lost last elecrion.
Bisi Ilaka said he lost his bid to represent the people of Oyo central senatorial district to incumbent Teslim Folarin because the house of representatives candidates his party fielded were weak.
Ahead of the 2023 election, he urged the party to field credible candidatess.
Ilaka, who hails from Oyo East local government, is of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while Folarin, who hails from Ona-Ara, is of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ilaka, since the last 14 years, has been trying unsuccessfully to go to the senate. In 2007, he was defeated by Folarin in the PDP primaries.
According to Ilaka, who spoke while fielding questions on Fresh FM’s political circuit Saturday morning, Folarin defeated him because APC’s reps candidates in Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa and Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituencies, Olusegun Odebunmi and Akin Alabi respectively, defeated their PDP counterparts, thus pushed the votes garnered by Folarin up. He, however, said that in his own case, his votes pushed up the PDP reps candidates’ votes.
