Hon Oyedokun receives NEMA, task them to evolve from been a reactionary Agency to Proactive one

Ogbomoso South Council Boss, Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy has again reiterated his administration’s commitment to stabilise the Agricultural sector in other to create food secirity.

The Chairman stated this on Thursday, when he granted audience to the team of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, who came to take data of farmers in Ogbomoso South Local Government, who their farms were destroyed due to flood.

Hon Oyedokun said his administration is passionate on addressing issues affecting the agricultural sector, and to ensure agriculture is profitable and ensure food security in the council area.

“My vision is to make agriculture profitable and ensure food security as I have designed agendas to wholly transform the agriculture sector in this local goverment.”

He appreciated the team and advised them to ensure their is adequate plans on ground immediately such disaster occurs.

“I am committed towards stabilising the Agricultural sector, as I promise to take proactive measures and building community resilience to prevent reoccurrence of the disaster that led to huge losses on the side of the farmers.” he said.

He further called for more support from the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA and the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA to victims of natural disasters in the council.

While assuring the National Emergency Management Agency of his administration’s commitment to continually partner with it, the Chairman task NEMA to evolve from been a reactionary Agency to Proactive one.
