Ogbomoso South-West LCDA boss, Engr Amusan Damilare empowers consistuents.

It was a moment of joy for the people of Ogbomoso South-West LCDA,Ajegunle Ibapon, Ogbomoso today as the Caretaker Chairman of the LCDA, Engr Amusan Damilare empowered youths, women and widows in the area.

The LCDA boss distributed sewing machines, barbing clippers, gas cylinders, standing fans, hair dryers, generating sets,coolers and grants to facilitate take off or various businesses to over 200 beneficiaries.

He said that the empowerment programme was aimed at providing sustainable livelihood to the beneficiaries, noting that all was possible through the help of Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde
Speaking at the empowerment program Caretaker Chairman Ogbomoso South Local Government, Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy who was accompanied by his wife, commended the Engr Amusan over the gesture, adding that it would go a long way to reduce poverty in the local council development areas of the LG.

Hon Oyedokun noted that viable programmes under the empowerment scheme would have great potentials to lift the beneficiaries out of unemployment and to be employers of labour.

“You should use the materials donated to you by the today judiciously to become self-reliant and employ others, to reduce unemployment and poverty in the state” Oyedokun urged the beneficiaries.

Also speaking, former chairman Ogbomoso South LG, Prince Felix Akande and PDP party chairman Ogbomoso South LG, Apostle Olamoyegun in their speech they delivered differently said the empowerment programme would curb crime in the area, as they both charged the beneficiaries against sale of the materials.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries,Mr Adetutu Joseph commended the gesture, adding that many families would now have a means of livelihood.

Among dignitaries in attendance are, Mr Remi Adeniran, Onibapon of Ibapon, Alhaji Asifat Akanji, Mrs Moriliat Ajagbe, party leaders, career officers among others.
