Surulere South LCDA Boss, Moruf Gbadamosi Empowers Over 300 Women

Surulere South local council development area chairman in Oyo State, Alhaji Moruf Gbadamosi, on Tuesday has empowered 300 women as a way of creating jobs and alleviating poverty among the natives of the local council development area.

The local government boss said he had executed many projects in order to touch the lives of people at the grassroot level, adding that his administration would continue to utilize its meager resources to improve the living standard of the people.

Among items distributed at the women empowerment programme held at the council secretariat, Oko, included 7 sewing machines, 8 grinding machines, 2 deep freezers, 4 hair dryers, 15 coolers as well cash assistance to over 250 beneficiaries.

Alhaji Gbadamosi said in line with Engr Seyi Makinde’s led administration his administration had priotised health, education, security and empowerment, adding that successes were recorded in the aforesaid sectors.

“We are doing a lot to complement the effort of Governor Seyi Makinde in providing lasting solutions to alleviate poverty in the state. This is largely through providing the support for our people

He added that those that were yet to benefit should exercise patience, adding that he was aware of the contributions and support of the people.” he added.

Speaking at the event, A leader of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Surulere LG and a former member federal house of representatives, Hon Folaranmi Oyebamiji said he believes that the current administration is putting in place various
process to enable citizens to be self sufficient.

He said, “Empowering women a has been a major focal point of this present administration led by our able governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.

Similarly, HRM Oba Moses Olayiwola Ajiboye, Aresa Apa and HRM Oba Prof Akinola Akintola , Alapa of Okin apa in their separate remarks told the beneficiaries that What they were enjoining today is a privilege; therefore, urging them to use the empowerment to develop themselves.

Among those present at the women empowerment program were, Hon Sharafadeen Olatunji Mohammed, caretaker chairman Surulere North LCDA, Hon Raji Isiak, Hon Mrs Oyegbile Ruth, Hon Mrs Oladejo Aderonke, Hon Oyeleye Joseph.

Also in attendance are, HRH Oba Oyegbile Olujado of Ijado, Mrs Ajala Taiwo, Mrs Adewumi Adeyinka, Hon Peter Amao, Hon Abel Ayoade among others.
