Amotekun Pleads Guilty, Sacks Officers Involved in EACOED Students Union

The Oyo State Security Network on behalf of the state government and the Amotekun Security Network has apologized and sacked with immediate effect, the officers involved in the brutality of Comrade Adeola Sofiyulahi, the Students Union President of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education (EACOED), Oyo.

It was reported earlier that the Students Union President was massacred by Amotekun in training officers on his way to the college to pick some files at his office.

The college management in their reaction on Saturday declared the humiliation meted on the Union President by the Amotekun in training officers supervised by one of the college security guards as unethical.

This was said at a peace meeting convened by the Provost of the College, Dr. Rasaq Adefabi, which had in attendance the commandant of the Amotekun, Col. Olayinka Olayanju, ASO Guard Security Commander and other members of the management and the students union representatives.

Speaking after the meeting, Student Union President, Comrade Adeola confirmed that the commandants of the security bodies felt remorseful and regretted the actions of their members which is the injustice they all wanted to fight against and justice is already served.

“On Saturday 14th November 2020, a meeting called by the provost where the government official, the college management, the commander of Amotekun, the ASO guard commander and SUG body make dialogue on the earlier demand, the meeting started at exactly 4:30pm, all faces looked disturbed, injustice to one, injustice to all!!! The college management, commandant of amotekun and ASO found it displeasing and strictly condemned the act done by the two culprits”.

“All our demands were met and we are pleased with the resolutions” he added.
