Caretaker chairman, Ogbomoso South local government area, Hon Oyeniyi Oyedokun Timothy has congratulated Mr Sunday Falana on his nomination and screening as member of Oyo State Independent electoral commission.
This was made known in a statement made available to ROUNDOYO by the special adviser Media to Hon Oyedokun, Mr Adewuyi Adebukola, where the LG boss charged the electoral body member to ensure a free and fair election is conducted in the state.
He said “the The Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy on behalf of Ogbomoso South Local Government indigenes today congratulated the OYSIEC MEMBER nominee from Ogbomoso in person of Mr. SUNDAY FALANA of Apagbonrin’s compound on his well deserved appointment.
“The chairman who congratulated the nominee through a phone call this afternoon said this appointment is well deserved and we are happy that it has come at the right time even as a blessing to the entire Ogbomoso South .
“He prayed to God for the grace to handle this fragile assignment Oyo State has committed into the members hands.”
It could be recalled that, Governor Makinde on 20th September 2019, through a letter sought for the consideration of the House of Assembly for the nominees.
According to the letter, Isiaka Olagunju was nominated as chairman of the commission, while Adeniyi Afeez Babatunde, Alhaja Ganiyat Saka, Mr. Olanrewaju Emmanuel, Chief Kumi Agboola, Mr. Remi Ayoade, Mr. Sunday Falan and Mr. Adeojo Elias were nominated as members.
Makinde had dissolved the body constituted by the past administration when he came to office.
He cited irregularities and illegality as the reasons for the dissolution.
The confirmation of OYSIEC board members were granted during the plenary held on Thursday, which was presided over by the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin.
