Flood: OOT Commence River dredging

Caretaker Chairman Ogbomoso South local government, Hon Oyedokun Timothy has promised to embark on proactive steps to avoid combating menace of flood in Ogbomoso South local government Area of Oyo State.

Hon Oyedokun made the promise on Tuesday while inspecting the ongoing dredging of LAKA-MOLETE River in Lagbedu Ward, Ogbomoso South LG of Oyo State.

He expressed optimism that the dredging of the river would provide permanent solution to the chances of witnessing flooding in the area.

He also hoped that the dredging would not only tackle flooding but also ensure a healthy and clean environment for those living in the area.

“We need to look at a realistic solution to this problem, the dredging of this River is very important in flood management issue and that’s why we embarked on this project.’’ the Caretaker Chairman said.

“In a bid to make life easier for my people as promised, I made a quick resolution on the dredging of LAKA-MOLETE River in Lagbedu Ward 09 to curb unnecessary flooding now or in the future.

“I was at the scene of work this morning to inspect the work and I really commend the work done. I will stop at nothing to make sure I see to the welfarism of my people and by God’s grace we are just starting.”

OOT however, restated Engr Seyi Makinde’s led administration’s determination to fulfil all its campaign promises to the citizenry.
