Oyo State APC Chieftain and Ogbomoso born Civil Engineer, Engr Muftau Open Salawu in his congratulatory message to former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has disclosed how he met the septuagenarian.
“I first met his Excellency Christopher Alao Akala on 26th of December, 1986 at Independence Hotel in Ogbomoso, he was in Company of Senator Brimo Yusuff then Col Brimo. Very adorable and handsome man, if you have the privilege of knowing him then you will agreed with me that you can’t ignore him.I wonder how his female contemporary would have been feeling then, anyway he made the right choice.”
The Saraki Adini of Ogbomosoland, he described Alao-Akala as the most experienced public servant to have governed Oyo with his antecedent From a teacher, to a police officer, moving to a local government chairman during the regime of Late Lay Adelina, before deputising former governor Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja between 2003-2007 before he eventually became the Executive Governor of Oyo State 2007-2011.
“We are Celebrating him today not only because he his an extraordinary man but God shows is presence in his Life. He is a man of many parts perhaps the most experienced public servant that has governed Oyo state. From teaching in school to a police officer, Chairman of local Government to deputy Governor and later became Executive Governor of Oyo state between 2007 to 2011.
Speaking about the personal life of the septuagenarian, Open Salawu describe him as someone who appreciates and acknowledge good deeds.
“He keeps contacts and he appreciate and acknowledge good deeds. He reciprocate respect and he can be mean if he have to. He loves being at home among his people. His love for Ogbomoso is second to none and has always demonstrates that.
“Today as will celebrate your 70th birthday I joined many well wishers all over the world to pray for you and ask God to make the remaining years you will spend to be more pleasant and to the glory of God.
“With each new year comes another wrinkle. Invaluable wishes to a man who has so many wrinkles he can donate. Happy Birthday Sir. We love you.
