Oyo State APC chieftain, Engr Muftau has urged Muslims faithful and Nigerians in general to take advantage of the spiritual rebirth that Ramadan represents to promote love, peace and justice.
Open Salamu made the call in a Sallah message to the people of the Oyo state to mark the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
“Nigerians should use this important celebration to reflect on the importance of unity in the country, and pray to God to heal the world’’
The Ogbomoso born civil engineer noted that the significance of the Muslims festival was enormous and compelling for all Nigerians to embrace one another and affirm the trust of our founding fathers.
“It is only when Nigerians live in peace and harmony as well as appreciate one another that we can strengthen the bond that brought us together as a nation,’’ he said.
He enjoined all Muslims faithful and Nigerians to continue to offer special prayers for the unity and progress of the country, especially in this moment of pandemic which is on the verge leading the country into another economic recession.
Open Salawu urged political office holders to be patriotic in the discharge of their duties by putting the masses first.
Engr Muftau, however, felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari, Soun of Ogbomoso land, HIM Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress, Sen Abiola Ajimobi and other Muslims faithfuls in Oyo State and across the country on this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
