Eid-el-Fitri is time to celebrate the common values that unite us in our humanity – FOGSU

The National Senate arm of Federation of Ogbomoso students union, FOGSU, has felicitated with Muslims in Ogbomoso land, Oyo State and across the country on the celebration of the 2020 Eid-el-Fitr festival.

This is contained in a statement made available to ROUNDOYO by Sen. Adeleye Blessing the National Senate Clerk of the body.

The student body described religion as a means of connecting with God and viable tool for achieving peace in any society, urged Muslims to use the occasion of the festival to pray for the peace, progress and development of the country.

Sen Adeleye While noting that Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, said it’s also time to celebrate the common values that unite us in our humanity and reinforces the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other, especially those impacted by poverty, conflict, disease and those affected by the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.

“Federation of Ogbomoso Students union national Senate Arm felicitate with Muslims throughout Ogbomosoland, Oyo State and around Nigeria celebrate Eid-al-Fitr.

“Sen.Adeleye Blessing on behalf of the body extend is warmest wishes to them and their families. This Ramadan has been a time of fasting, reflection, spiritual renewal, and service to the less fortunate.

“While Eid marks the completion of Ramadan, it also celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity and reinforces the obligations that people of all faiths have to each other, especially those impacted by poverty, conflict, disease and those affected by the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.

“We wish all Muslims in Ogbomosoland and around Oyo State a blessed and joyous celebration.”
