Ogbomoso South local government chairman, Hon Oyedokun Timothy has called on Muslims to always reflect on the essence of Ramadan even after the fasting.
OOT has fondly called by his supporters said this in his Eid Al fitr message made available to ROUNDOYO in Ogbomoso on Saturday.
He urged Muslims across the country to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, patience, perseverance and selflessness, which were the true reflections of the teaching of the Holy month of Ramadan.
Hon Oyedokun was quoted as saying that the state and the nation at this critical period of global pandemic requires the support of all and sundry.
He enjoined the people of Oyo state to continue to support the Seyi Makinde led government towards achieving the success of the rebuilding mission.
According to him,“I wish the Muslims community in Ogbomoso south and the entire people of the state many more fruitful years.
“The lessons of peaceful co-existence, gratitude and benevolence, which we have been taught in the Month of Ramadan must remain with us all through our lives”, he said.
OOT commended everyone who offered prayers for the state and the nation in general during the holy month, saying they would reap the full benefits of their belief in God.
He called on the people to extend helping hand to the indigent around them, saying it was part of the Ibadah of the fasting period.
Furthermore, he appealed to Muslim faithfuls in Ogbomoso South local government area and across the state to perform their Eid prayers at home.
“I appeal to Muslims to perform Eid prayers at home with your nuclear family. This is part of our empathy and commitment as religious people in handling COVID-19,” he said.
