With the current dismal state of healthcare across the country, it seems the fate of the most vulnerable, often times forgotten people in our local communities where healthcare is concerned is quite dire.
That is the motivation behind the Onirese House Foundation’s free health care program for underserved communities in Oyo state. The foundation on Thursday 5th March, 2020 stormed Oko town in Surulere local government area of oyo state.
Speaking the the event, the founder of the foundation , Dr Paul Ajagbe, said “the continued sensitization of healthcare providers, women and their families about basic health care practices is important to achieve a healthy community.”
Dr Paul says “while Onirese House foundation has taken on the challenge of providing regular free healthcare to low income communities, government needs to step up to their responsibility and create healthcare policies that are sustainable and put primary health care at the center of its plan”.
He also talked about the retreat which over the counter drugs are being misused, nothing that the adverse effect far outweighs the benefits.
In his address when they paid a courtesy visit to his palace, the Oloko of Oko, HRM Oba Solomon Akinola Olagoke Oyeyode III commended the foundation for extending their kind gesture to his domain, praying that the foundation effort will be rewarded bountifully by the lord.
