Nigeria National League top promotion contenders, Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho, have announced a seasoned sports journalist, Oyekunle Oyeleye as the acting General Manager.
Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede, on Monday approved the appointment of Oyekunle Oyeleye as the new acting General Manager of the club.
Oyeleye, has been with the club for 13 years and until now served as the club Media Officer and Administrative Secretary, takes over from Rolandson Odeh who resigned from the club last week to join Edo Queens Football Club of Benin as Technical Manager.
“We have resolved that Oyekunle Oyeleye will be in charge of Crown FC as the acting General Manager. We believe he’s capable of doing the job well with his experience and exposure and we are sure of his discipline, good leadership quality which will help the get well this season,” Fakorede said.
However, Fakorede described Rolandson Odeh as a core professional, who worked tirelessly with Crown Football Club for four seasons and was able to build a formidable team for the Ogbomosho side.
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports assured football lovers and fans of Crown FC that the state government would not relent in its quest to take the club to greater heights.
Meanwhile, as he undertakes this new assignment, Oyekunle Oyeleye has solicited for the full support and cooperation of all football stakeholders to enable him succeed.
Oyekunle is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear to assist the Ajilete Warriors achieve greatness when the 2019/2020 NNL season resumes.
