IGP orders Oyo CP to liaise with APC over sacked chairmen AGF re-instatement directive

The Inspector General of Police,Muhammed Adamu has directed the commissioner of police in Oyo state, Mr Shina Olukolu to liaise with the All Progressives Congress, APC to initiate appropriate ways for the sacked Local government and local council development area chairmen to resume their offices.

This was contained in a letter dated 23-01-2020 and addressed to the chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC , Chief Akin Oke in response to his petition.

The Inspector General through his principal staff officer DCP Idowu Owohunwa, calling on the state chairman of the APC to liaise with the commissioner of police in Oyo state to ensure compliance with extant judicial decisions in line with the view of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice on the matter.

It would be recalled that the AGF had written the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led state government, to demand the dissolution of the local government caretaker committees and the reinstatement of the democratically elected council chairmen that were illegally sacked within hours of Governor Seyi Makinde resuming office.
